The Infrastructure Specialist is an integral part of the IT Department who oversees the day-to-day operation, support, and implementation of technology that supports both the Corporate and Restaurant Technology. This position will also act as an escalation point to technology vendors supporting systems. This position will provide technical and operational guidance for new technologies being evaluated for the organization’s environment. |

- Support restaurant functions of the Point-of-Sale system (POS)
- Support restaurant Kitchen Display Systems (KDS)
- Designing and installing restaurant networks, connections cabling
- Troubleshooting system failures and identifying roadblocks
- Fixing problems in LAN infrastructure and testing and configuring software
- Maintaining and repairing hardware including peripheral devices
- Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow
- Support and maintain ISP
- Support and troubleshoot VoIP connectivity throughout the organization
- Performs/monitors daily server data back-ups of corporate and restaurant servers
- Helps Infrastructure Engineers with proper configuration and operation of systems failover capabilities
- Assists with updating and maintaining systems documentation for all systems
- Primary support and backup to the Systems Engineer and Systems Administrator
- Ensures critical, security, and software updates are applied to organizations systems in a timely manner
- Partners with the rest of the IT Team, and escalates if necessary, to ensure objectives of restaurant and corporate systems maintenance are achieved
- Works with third-party companies on integrations and network configuration of systems
- Assists with digital signage systems
- Escalation point for the IT Service Desk Team
- Maintains configuration of IT equipment for New Restaurant Openings (NROs) using documented system configuration standards
- Routinely tests network failover and backup internet to ensure proper functionality
- Ensures restaurant Operations Teams are following IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Cloud Solutions Provider experience such as Microsoft Office365, Azure
- Troubleshoots corporate and restaurant technical issues
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and consulting with vendors and internal departments for restaurant technology hardware/software purchases
- Assists in technology vendor management
- Assists in coordinating special projects including network-related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, back-up, maintenance, and problem solving
- Participates in projects as necessary
- Keeps current regarding new or enhanced hardware/software products for restaurant system enhancements
- Additional roles and responsibilities may be added as this role evolves
- Up to 30% travel will be expected of this role, dependent on current projects and priorities
- This is a key position within the IT department and requires on-call availability.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Restaurant technology experience is preferred
- Knowledge of Aloha POS including configuration and maintenance is preferred
- Two (2) plus years of experience working with Windows Server operating systems and hardware
- Two (2) plus years of experience working with firewalls, routers, and switches
- Two-year college degree in the IT Field (A.S. IT) or equivalent working experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong communication skills; in-person, over the phone, and written
- Experience with POS payment platforms
- High energy level required to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven efficiency in researching, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN topologies, Active Directory, backups, and disaster recovery
- Technical certifications preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment with a variety of professionals, while also working independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively multi-task
